PROPERTY TAX INCREASES PROJECTED for 2009 Hello All,
Hope everyone is having an excellent week!
This week's news is concerning our local property taxes for 2009. Yes, I know, perhaps I am the bearer of bad news - but there are important changes! The city released a news bulletin this morning projecting a 7.5% property tax increase for 2009. Read the full release via link: http://www.cityofgp.com/spotlights/PropertyTaxRateIncrease20090505.htm.
A useful website for property tax information and assessment is the city's Muniportal site - http://www.muniportal.ca/ . Through this site one can access all sorts of permit and licensing forms, maps, council meeting insight, as well as tax information. It is city specific, so no county info. Parts of the site relating to tax estimations are down for the count lately as assessments and amounts are adjusted, but you can still pull up your home and view last year's assessed value among other tidbits.
For all our friends outside of Grande Prairie - each city has their own site for property tax info as far as I can see. A few that may be helpful:

Have a wonderful Tuesday, and enjoy the read.
